Metallic Mayhem!

Well my lovlies, another week another new trend, This time it comes in the form of the metallic look, and no I don't mean you should go out looking like a robot.  This seasons runway shows boasted this newest trend, take Fendi, who covered the eyes and brows in gold and silver, Now these shows didn't exactly use conventional products to create these looks, bits of gold and silver leaf were stuck onto the face- too fiddly and very expensive- and loosed glitter sprinkled onto the face- goes everywhere and a nightmare to get off, now what I suggest is that we take inspiration from these newest trends, not take them literally.  The great thing about metallic makeup is that it can be used in so many ways, want to look high fashion use it in your contouring, use a high shine highlighter such as MAC strobe cream, or Seventeen wow highlighter, it will give a gorgeous metallic shine to your prominent features (cheekbones, bridge of nose, brow bone, cupids bow and collar bones).

Or you could add it to the eyes, either in the form of a metallic eyeliner flick (blue and green are my favorites at the moment) or go a bit more daring wear a dark smoky eye on a night out, instead of making it all black, add a dash of excitement with a metallic silver or gold, be even more daring by adding a pop of metallic colour, blue, purple, green.  Not brave enough to wear a solid dark smoky eye? play with the more natural tones- apply taupe all over the lid, next in the crease apply dark brown, you can wing this out, add some to the bottom lash line, then add a metallic bronze all over the lid.  Finish of with a sweep of a light shimmery colour to the inner part of your eye (around the tear duct area closest to your nose) and to your brow bone, touch of Mascara paired with a neutral/brown lip and you're ready to go, when the light hits your eyes this look will really make them pop!  You see how easy it is to achieve this look? Just add a touch of metallic's to the makeup you already do and you'll have this newest trend down! so go out and try it, be inspired and experiment to your hearts content! x
